IQ is a British neo-progressive rock band formed in Southampton in 1981 by guitarist Mike Holmes and keyboardist Martin Orford. Alongside acts such as Marillion, Pendragon and Pallas, they were part of the early-1980s British progressive rock revival and are widely regarded as one of the most respected bands in the genre. Their music is characterised by long, epic songs, thoughtful lyrics and extended instrumental passages. The band remains active and released the album "Dominion" in 2025.
