About

Jakob Hansonis, born 29 July 1958 in Pulheim near Cologne, is a German guitarist and film composer. He joined Herbert Grönemeyer's band in 1980 and has played on every album production and tour since, including the theatre music written while Grönemeyer was musical director at the Schauspielhaus Bochum between 1980 and 1982. From 1989 to 1992 he was guitarist in the Köln Big Band under Michael Villmow, appearing at the 1991 Leverkusen Jazz Days. He also scored several films for director Angelina Maccarone, among them "Alles wird gut", "Fremde Haut", "Verfolgt" and "Vivere". His current live project is "Space Oddity", a David Bowie programme with singer Pit Hupperten that the band built after Bowie's death in January 2016 — a rock reading of the songs rather than a costumed imitation.
