About

Markus Krebs, born in 1970 in the Neudorf district of Duisburg, is one of the best-known stand-up comedians to come out of Germany's Ruhr region. He trained as a wholesale and foreign-trade clerk and worked as a deputy store manager at a DIY market before winning RTL's Comedy Grand Prix in 2011 made him a national name. His trademark is the bar stool: he stays seated and fires off puns, Ruhr-area anecdotes and blunt punchlines at speed. The programmes “Literatur unter Betäubung” (2012), “Hocker-Rocker” (2014), “Permanent Panne” (2016) and “Pass auf … kennste den?!” (2019) were followed by “Comedy alle wegen mir?”. Since March 2020 he has also hosted the podcast “Comedykation mit Markus Krebs”.
