Paul Panzer is the stage name of German comedian and actor Dieter Tappert, born on 8 January 1972 in Düren. He rose to prominence from 1998 through comedy prank-call segments recorded for the radio station 100'5 Das Hitradio. Since 2005 he has toured with full-length stage shows, his first solo program being "Heimatabend Deluxe." In 2006 he received the German Comedy Prize (Deutscher Comedypreis) as best newcomer. His trademarks include a distinctive speech style with a lateral "s", Germanized foreign words and an exaggerated naivety. Today his live programs fill the largest arenas in Germany.
