About

Roland Jankowsky, born in 1968 in Leverkusen, is a German actor. After early stage work at independent theatres in Cologne and Leverkusen and engagements in Hamburg and at the Grillo-Theater in Essen, he has worked mainly in television since the mid-1990s. For nine years he starred alongside Mariele Millowitsch and Walter Sittler in the award-winning hospital sitcom "Nikola". He is best known as the quirky detective Overbeck in the popular ZDF crime series "Wilsberg", a role that earned him the audience title of "Germany's coolest TV detective" in 2018. Today he also tours across Germany with live crime-fiction readings, which have become his main occupation.
