Santiano is a German band from the northern state of Schleswig-Holstein whose songs mainly revolve around seafaring themes. Their music blends rock, Irish folk, sea shanties and schlager, a style their record label calls shanty rock. The band's name is taken from the Hugues Aufray song of the same name. They topped the German album charts several times in the 2010s and also charted high in Austria and Switzerland. Their recent releases on Universal Music include the album Doggerland.
