Stoppok is the stage name of Stefan Stoppok, a German singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and rock musician born in Hamburg in 1956 who grew up in Essen in the Ruhr region. His work blends rock, folk and German-language songwriting with socially observant, everyday-life lyrics. Among his best-known songs are "Aerger", "Dumpfbacke" and "Tanz (Beweg dein Herz zum Hirn)". In 2015 he received the German Kleinkunstpreis in the Chanson/Song/Music category. He has been a steady presence on live stages since the 1980s, frequently performing with changing band line-ups.
