The Troops of Doom is a Brazilian death/thrash metal band founded in 2020 by guitarist Jairo "Tormentor" Guedz, the original Sepultura guitarist who played on the early classics "Bestial Devastation" and "Morbid Visions." The band was formed to revive the raw death/thrash metal of the 1980s, drawing on Sepultura's early era and bands such as Slayer, Celtic Frost and Possessed. Alongside Guedz, the line-up has included bassist/vocalist Alex Kafer, drummer Alexandre Oliveira and guitarist Marcelo Vasco. In its first years the band released several EPs, including "The Rise of Heresy," as well as its debut full-length album "Antichrist Reborn."
