Von Wegen Lisbeth is a German-language indie-pop band from Berlin, formed in 2006 at the Beethoven-Gymnasium in Berlin-Lankwitz. Fronted by singer Matthias Rohde, the group pairs catchy indie-pop with ironic, everyday German-language lyrics. Their debut album "Grande" (2016), featuring the single "Bitch", was certified gold in Germany and marked their breakthrough. Later albums "sweetlilly93@hotmail.com" (2019) and "EZ Aquarii" (2022) both charted highly in Germany. In 2017 the band won the Deutscher Musikautorenpreis in the newcomer category and an Echo Pop award.
