KOMM is a self-managed, independent sociocultural center in Düren, housed since 1992 in the Pleußmühle, a former grain mill recognizable by its water wheel. Run by the association Jugend- und Kulturzentrum Düren e.V., founded in 1980, it puts on around 110 public events a year — concerts, cabaret, theater, exhibitions and courses — drawing roughly 30,000 visitors annually. The building also has a bar open Thursday through Saturday and rentable rooms for dance, groups and stage productions.
