Olli Dittrich (born 20 November 1956 in Offenbach am Main) is a German comedian, actor, musician and composer. He rose to fame in the 1990s through the sketch-comedy show RTL Samstag Nacht, notably with the parody segment “Zwei Stühle – eine Meinung” alongside Wigald Boning. His best-known character is “Dittsche,” a beer-loving snack-bar philosopher from Hamburg featured for many years in his own WDR series. As a musician he co-founded the duo Die Doofen and drummed for the country band Texas Lightning, which represented Germany at the 2006 Eurovision Song Contest. He has received numerous honours, including several Grimme Awards.
