Quatuor Ébène is a French string quartet founded in 1999 at the Conservatoire for Music, Dance and Theatre in Boulogne-Billancourt, near Paris. The ensemble has established itself as one of the leading string quartets on the international chamber music scene. Its repertoire spans the classical quartet literature and contemporary music, with the boundaries occasionally blurring towards jazz. This stylistic openness has given the quartet a distinctive identity, and it performs regularly on major concert stages in Germany and around the world.
