Torfrock is a German rock band founded in 1977 by Klaus Büchner and Raymond Voß. The group is known for singing in Low German (Plattdeutsch), helping keep the northern German dialect alive, and for its humorous Low-German versions of Anglo-American standards ranging from blues rock to folk rock. Torfrock is closely tied to the 'Werner' comic and film franchise, having written the soundtrack to the first Werner movie, with singer Büchner voicing the title character. Their song 'Beinhart' reached number one on the German charts.
